RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 2004-048 accepting a donation of $2,500
from Barbara F. Hallman in memory of Margaret & George Brownley, appropriating the
funds, and directing an appropriate letter of thanks.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Barbara F. Hallman has donated $2,500 to the Carlsbad City Library in memory of long time
Carlsbad residents, Margaret and George Brownley. The funds are appropriated to the
Library Gifts and Bequests Fund for the purchase of materials for the collection.
FISCAL IMPACT: None
EXHIBITS:
1. Resolution No. 2004-048 accepting a donation from Barbara
F. Hallman to the Carlsbad City Library and appropriating the funds to the Library Gifts
and Bequests Fund.

DONATION TO THE GIFTS AND BEQUESTS FUND.
WHEREAS, Barbara F. Hallman has donated $2,500 to the Carlsbad City
Library for the purchase of materials for the collection in memory of Margaret
and George Brownley, and
WHEREAS, The City Council wishes to accept this gift;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad, California, as follows:

That the above recitations are true and correct.
That the City Council accepts the gift of $2,500 from Barbara F.
Hallman on behalf of all citizens of Carlsbad, and hereby
appropriates these funds to the Library gifts and bequests
account..
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, held on the 17th day of
February , 2004, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Finnila, Kulchin, Hall and Packard
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
