NS-694 AMENDING THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE TO ESTABLISH A 25 MILE PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT ON MIDDLETON DRIVE I Adopt Ordinance No. NS-694 approving the establishment upon Middleton Drive a prima facie 25 mile per hour speed limit from Glasgow Drive to its intersection with Woodstock Street. ITEM EXPLANATION: Ordinance No. NS-694 was introduced and first read at the City Council meeting held on February 17, 2004. The second reading allows the City Council to adopt the ordinance, which would then become effective in thirty days. The City Clerk will have the ordinance published within fifteen days, if adopted. NS-694 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 10, CHAPTER 10.44, OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE ADDITION OF SECTION 10.44.720 TO ESTABLISH UPON MIDDLETON DRIVE A PRIMA FACIE 25 MILE PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT FROM GLASGOW DRIVE TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH WOODSTOCK STREET. The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, hereby ordains as follows: SECTION 1 : That Title 10, Chapter 10.44 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is amended by the addition of Section 10.44.720 to read as follows: “1 0.44.720 Middleton Drive. Upon Middleton Drive from Glasgow Drive to its intersection with Woodstock Street, the prima facie speed limit shall be twenty-five miles per hour.” EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after its adoption and the City Clerk, City of Carlsbad, shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to be published at least once in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Carlsbad within fifteen (1 5) days after its adoption.
