ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE NO. NS-712
AMENDING TITLE 10, CHAPTER 10.40 FOR THE
ESTABLISHMENT OF A THREE HOUR PARKING TIME
LIMIT ON PORTIONS OF CARLSBAD BOULEVARD AND
CHRISTIANSEN WAY
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Ordinance No. NS-712 amending Title IO, Section 10.40 of the Carlsbad Municipal
Code establishing a three hour parking time limit on portions of Carlsbad Boulevard and
Christiansen Way.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Ordinance No. NS-712 was introduced and first read at the City Council meeting held on
July 13, 2004. The second reading allows the City Council to adopt the ordinance, which
would then become effective in thirty days. The City Clerk will have the ordinance published
within fifteen days, if adopted.

ORDINANCE NO. NS-712
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE IO, CHAPTER 10.40,
HOUR PARKING TIME LIMIT ON THE EAST SIDE OF CARLSBAD
BOULEVARD BETWEEN CHRISTIANSEN WAY AND BEECH AVENUE AND ON THE NORTH SIDE OF CHRISTIANSEN WAY
FROM CARLSBAD BOULEVARD TO WASHINGTON STREET
OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE TO ESTABLISH A THREE-
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, hereby ordains as follows:
SECTION 1: That Title IO, Chapter 10.40, of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is amended
by the addition of Section 10.40.041 (9 to read as follows:
“(9 There will be three-hour parking on the east side of Carlsbad
Boulevard from a point 100 feet north of Christiansen Way to
Beech Avenue between the hours of seven a.m. and six p.m.
except for Sundays and holidays. “
SECTION 2: That Title 10, Chapter 10.40 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is amended by
the revision of Section 10.40.084 to read as follows:
‘‘I 0.40.084 Parking Time Limit on Christiansen Way
(a) There will be three-hour parking on each side of Christiansen
Way from State Street westerly to the alley between the hours of
seven a.m. and six p.m. except for Sundays and holidays.
(b) There will be three-hour parking on the north side of
Christiansen Way from a point 96 feet east of Carlsbad
Boulevard to Washington Street between the hours of seven
a.m. and six p.m. except for Sundays and holidays.”
EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after its adoption and
:he City Clerk, City of Carlsbad, shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to be
wblished at least once in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Carlsbad within fifteen

INTRODUCED AND FIRST READ at a regular meeting of said City Council held on the
13th dayof July , 2004, and thereafter,
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City Council
held on the 20th day of July , 2004 by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Finnila, Kulchin, Hall and Packard
