ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE NO. NS-714

RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Ordinance No. NS-714 amending Title IO, Section 10.28 of the Carlsbad Municipal
Code establishing all-way stops at the intersection of Ocean Street and Cypress Avenue.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Ordinance No. NS-714 was introduced and first read at the City Council meeting held on
August IO. 2004. The second reading allows the City Council to adopt the ordinance, which
would then become effective in thirty days. The City Clerk will have the ordinance published
within fifteen days, if adopted.

See Agenda Bill No. 17,753 on file with the City Clerk.

ORDINANCE NO. NS-714
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 10, CHAPTER 10.28, OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL TO REQUIRE STOPS AT THE INTERSECTION OF OCEAN STREETICYPRESS AVENUE.
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, hereby ordains as follows:
SECTION 1: That Title 10, Chapter 10.28, of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is amended
by the addition of Section 10.28.730 to read as follows:
“1 0.28.730 Cypress Avenue. Drivers shall stop where the following described
street intersects Cypress Avenue:
Ocean Street.”
SECTION 2: That Title 10, Chapter 10.28, of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is amended
by the revision of Section 10.28.1 53 to read as follows:
“1 0.28.1 53 Ocean Street. Drivers shall stop where the following described
streets intersect Ocean Street:
Cypress Avenue
Grand Avenue.”
EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after its adoption and
the City Clerk, City of Carlsbad, shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to be
published at least once in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Carlsbad within fifteen
(1 5) days after its adoption.

10th day of Auqust ,2004, and thereafter,
