RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. , accepting a donation of one thousand two hundred thirty-
nine dollars ($1,239) from the North San Diego County Association of Realtors to purchase a
flagpole for Aviara Community Park.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On October 21, 2004, the City received a donation of one thousand two hundred thirty-nine
dollars ($1,239) from the North San Diego County Association of Realtors, who have requested
the donation be specifically used to fund the purchase of a flagpole for Aviara Community Park.

Since receiving the donation, a flagpole and has been selected and an appropriate location on
the site near the baseball/softball field has been identified for placement. The pole is to be
installed during the park's construction and will be in place for the park opening next year.
On November 15, 2004, the donation was presented to the Parks and Recreation Commission,
where they unanimously recommended acceptance by the City Council. A letter of appreciation
has been sent to the North County San Diego Association of Realtors on behalf of the Recreation
Department.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The one thousand two hundred thirty-nine dollar ($1,239) donation from the North San Diego
County Association of Realtors has been deposited into the Aviara Community Park Capital
Project Account #327009060-36991914.

RESOLUTION NO. 2004-376
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A DONATION OF $1,239 FOR THE PURCHASE
OF A FLAGPOLE FOR AVIARA COMMUNITY PARK.
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept the check donated by the North San Diego
Association of Realtors for one thousand two hundred thirty-nine dollars ($1,239) to fund the purchase of a
flagpole for Aviara Community Park; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to acknowledge the generosity and support of the North
San Diego Association of Realtors; and
WHEREAS, on November 15, 2004 the Parks and Recreation Commission recommended
acceptance of the donation by the Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the City Council does hereby accept the $1,239 donation.
3. That the City Council hereby authorizes the Finance Director to deposit the $1,239 donation into the
Aviara Community Park Capital Project Account #3207OO09060-369919 14.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City Council held on
the 7Ch day of December ,2004 by the following vote, to wit:
