RECREATION TITLE: ACCEPTANCE OF DONATION OF ONE THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED TWENTY DOLLARS ($1,920) TO THE CARLSBAD SENIOR CENTER FROM KOKO BEACH RESTAURANT OWNERS JEFF KING & MARTIN KOUMA CITY Am. CITY MGR RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt Resolution No. Annual KoKo Beach Golf Tournament to benefit Carlsbad Senior Center programs. 2005-040 , accepting a cash donation of $1,920 from the 18th ITEM EXPLANATION: For the 18* consecutive year KoKo Beach restaurant owners, Jeff King and Martin Kouma, held their annual KoKo Beach Golf Tournament on October 30, 2004. All of the proceeds benefit Senior Center programs. On January 4, 2005, the Senior Commission received the above donation and recommended acceptance by the City Council. A letter of appreciation has been sent on behalf of the Recreation Department and the Carlsbad Senior Center to the KoKo Beach restaurant owners. The Recreation Department requests that Council accept this donation and authorize the Finance Director to deposit the $1,920.00 donation into the Senior Center Trust Fund #I 4345675651. Swenck, (760) 6024650, Iswen@ci.carlsbad.ca.us 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 2005-040 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE DONATION FROM THE lSTH ANNUAL KOKO BEACH GOLF TOURNAMENT TOTALING ONE THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED TWENTY DOLLARS ($1,920) IN SUPPORT OF THE CARLSBAD SENIOR CENTER. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, wishes to accept this donation and acknowledge the generosity and support of KoKo Beach restaurant owners Jeff King and Martin Kouma, who organized the golf tournament. WHEREAS, on January 4,2005 the Senior Commission recommended acceptance of donation totaling $1,920. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows: 1. That the above recitations are true and correct. 2. That the City Council does hereby accept the donation totaling one thousand nine hundred and twenty dollars ($1,920). 3. That the City Council authorizes the Finance Director to deposit the $1,920 donation into the Senior Center Trust Account #1434567565 1.
