ACCEPTING DONATIONS FROM MS. DIANA GORDON,
MR. JOSEPH PASHLEY, MR. DICK RlES AND, MS. HOPE
COVEN, IN THE AMOUNT OF $850, $400, $200, AND $25,
AND APPROPRIATING THE FUNDS TO THE PUBLIC
WORKS PARK OPERATIONS BUDGET.
RESPECTIVELY FOR MEMORIAL PARK BENCHESnREES
Adopt Resolution No. 2005-1 95 accepting donations of $850.00, $400.00,
$200.00, and $25.00, to the Public Works Parks Memorial Program from Ms. Diana Gordon, Mr.
Joseph Pashley, Mr. Dick Ries, and Ms. Hope Coven, respectively, for a memorial park bench and
memorial trees to be placed at a designated public parks, and appropriating the funds to the Public
Works Park Operations Budget.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Ms. Diana Gordon, Mr. Joseph Pashley, Mr. Dick Ries, and Ms. Hope Coven have donated
$850.00, $400.00, $200.00, and $25.00, respectively for a total of $1,475.00 to the City of
Carlsbad for the express purpose of purchasing a memorial park bench and memorial trees. This
bench and the trees will be installed at designated public parks by the City’s park maintenance
staff. These donations are part of the recently established Tree/Bench Memorial Program. The
intent is to generate donations for trees at designated parks, and benches for our existing and
future parks.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The donated funds are adequate to cover the cost of the bench and the trees.
EXHIBITS:
1. Resolution No. 2005-1 95 accepting donations from Ms. Diana Gordon, Mr.
Joseph Pashley, Mr. Dick Ries, and Ms. Hope Coven in the amount of $850.00, $400.00,
$200.00, and $25.00, respectively, for a memorial park bench and memorial trees to be placed
at designated public parks, and appropriating the funds totaling $1,475.00 to the Public Works
Park Operations Budget.

RESOLUTION NO. 2005-195
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING DONATIONS FROM MS.
DIANA GORDON, MR. JOSEPH PASHLEY, MR. DICK RIES, AND
MS. HOPE COVEN IN THE AMOUNT OF $850.00, $400.00,
$200.00, AND $25.00 EACH FOR A MEMORIAL PARK BENCH
AND MEMORIAL TREES AND APPROPRIATING THE FUNDS TO
THE PUBLIC WORKS PARK OPERATIONS BUDGET.
WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad Public Works Department has developed a treelbench
memorial program ,and
WHERAS, Ms. Diana Gordon, Mr. Joseph Pashley, Mr. Dick Ries, and Ms. Hope Coven,
have donated $850.00, $400.00, $200.00, and $25.00, respectively for a total of $1,475.00 to the
City of Carlsbad, Public Works Park Operations Budget for a park bench and trees, and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept this donation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the City Council accepts the donations from Ms. Diana Gordon, Mr. Joseph Pashley,
Mr. Dick Ries, and Ms. Hope Coven in the amount of $850.00, $400.00, $200.00, and $25.00,
respectively, for a total of $1,475.00 on behalf of all citizens of Carlsbad, and hereby appropriates
these funds to the Public Works Park Operations Budget.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City
of Carlsbad on the 21st day of Jl JNE , 2005, by the
following vote:
