ACCEPTANCE OF PROJECT TO PERFORM CONCRETE
REPLACEMENT AT FACILITIES AND PARKS
CONTRACT NO. 39241, PROJECT NO. FAC 04-06

RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 2005-205 accepting the work in accordance with Contract No.
39241 Facilities and Parks Concrete Replacement as complete, and direct the City Clerk
to have the Notice of Completion recorded.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
September 21, 2004, the City Council adopted Resolution 2004-295 awarding Contract
No. 39241 to Tri-Group Construction and Development Inc. for $233,265.50 for the
replacement of concrete improvements at various parks and facilities. Damaged concrete
was replaced at fifteen different locations throughout the city including parks, fire stations
and other buildings.
The construction phase of the project was completed on time and the new concrete
improvements are acceptable to the Public Works Manager, General Services.
This project addressed the Council Goal as described below.
“Ensure the effective and efficient delivery of top-quality services to our community.”
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW:
This project has been determined to be exempt from environmental review per CEQA (14
Cal Code Reg s15301) - minor alteration of an existing facility.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The total cost for this project is $246,956.42, which was funded by the Infrastructure
Replacement Fund. Change Orders- for the project totaled $1 3,690.92. Change Orders
included installing a driveway approach to the Hosp Grove Trailhead, sealing of various
fire station driveways and planting and erosion control of a slope next to the Carlsbad
High School Tennis Courts.
EXHIBITS :
1. Adopt Resolution No. 2005-205 accepting the work in accordance with
Contract No. 39241 Facilities and Parks Concrete Replacement as complete, and
direct the City Clerk to have the Notice of Completion recorded.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE WORK AS COMPLETE AND
DIRECTING THE RECORDATION OF THE NOTICE OF COMPLETION
FOR FACILITIES AND PARKS CONCRETE REPLACEMENT
CONTRACT NO. 39241, PROJECT NO. FAC 04-06
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad has previously appropriated
nfrastructure Replacement funds for Facilities and Parks concrete replacement, hereinafter
-eferred to as the “Project;” and
WHEREAS, the City Council has previously awarded a contract for the Project; and
WHEREAS, the Project work has been satisfactory completed; and
WHEREAS, a Notice of Completion has been prepared for the Project; and
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby finds it necessary, desirable, and in the public interest
:o accept the completed work for Facilities and Parks Concrete Replacement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
:alifornia, as follows:

That the completed work is hereby accepted and the City Clerk is directed to
