MTG. tW05 REVISED UNCLASSIFIED SALARY SCHEDULE
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
CITY MGR.
Adopt Resolution No. 2005-237 amending the Unclassified Salary Schedule effective
August 1,2005.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On December 17,2002, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2002-373 revising the
Unclassified Salary Schedule effective January 6, 2003. The job classification listed on the
Unclassified Salary Schedule is that of Management Intern. The Management Intern
classification is not linked to range adjustments given to other full-time employees. However,
staff recommends adjusting the range in a manner that is comparable to increases given to
full-time staff. Since the Unclassified Salary Schedule has not been amended for over two
years, staff recommends adjusting the Management Intern salary range by four percent (4%)
per year for 2004 and 2005 so that the salary range effective August 1,2005 would be $1533
to $1612 bi-weekly.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The annual cost of adjusting the Unclassified Salary Structure is estimated at $2,800. This
reflects the cost of adjusting the salary of the Management Intern to the minimum of the salary
range after the range adjustment has been made and includes the cost of salary-related
benefits. Sufficient funds are available from current appropriations in the 2005/06 operating
budget.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING A
REVISED UNCLASSlFIED SALARY SCHEDULE
WHEREAS, the City Council requires revisions in the salary schedule for unclassified
employees that are comparable to revisions to the salary ranges of other full-time classifications.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:

That the Unclassified Salary Schedule (Attachment A) attached hereto is hereby
approved and adopted.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad
City Council held on the 2nd day of AUGUST , 2005, by the following
