RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Receive a presentation from Dan McAllister, Treasurer-Tax Collector from the County of
San Diego.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The City Council provides an opportunity for citizens and organizations to have an item
placed on a City Council Agenda by submitting a letter to the City Manager. Attached is a
letter (Exhibit 1) from Dan McAllister, Treasurer-Tax Collector from the County of San
Diego, requesting the opportunity to make a presentation to the City Council regarding the
Treasurer-Tax Collector Annual Report 2005.
There is no Council action required for this item.

Unknown at this time.

Dear Mr. Patchett:
On behalf of Dan McAllister, Treasurer- Tax Collector for the County of San Diego, we kindly
request about ten minutes of your Council's time at the next City Council Meeting for Mr.
McAllister to speak.
Mr. McAllister would like to talk about the Treasurer-Tax Collector Annual Report 2005. This
report is just a "where we've been" and "where we are going" as a department, type of report. As
you know we send out the property tax bills in Mid September. This year there will be some
changes. These changes will hopefully give the taxpayer a better idea of the tax collection
process.
Mr. McAllister would address these changes with your Council, and also the improvements and
changes to our office. It will be very brief, most likely during the open Public Address section
of your meeting. We hope we can set up a date before the end of September.
