Carlsbad Lions Club, appropriating the funds, and directing an appropriate letter of thanks.
accepting a donation of $1,000 from the
ITEM EXPLANATION:
At the City Council Meeting of April 18, 2006, Miss Carlsbad, April Ducomun, presented a check
in the amount of $1,000 to the City on behalf of the Carlsbad Lions Club and specifying the
funds should be used to provide materials for the sight-impaired.
The donation is to be appropriated to the Library Gifts and Bequests Fund for that purpose.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The Carlsbad City Library will use the $1,000 for the purchase of reading materials for the
visually impaired.
EXHIBITS:

WHEREAS, the Carlsbad Lions Club has donated $1,000 to the City for the
Carlsbad City Library, and;
7 WHEREAS, the Carlsbad Lions Club has requested this donation be used for
g materials for visually impaired;

11 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
12 Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.

2. That the City Council accepts the gift of $1,000 from the Carlsbad Lions
15
Club on behalf of all citizens of Carlsbad, and hereby authorizes the Finance
16
Director to appropriate these funds to the Library Gifts and Bequests Fund.
