RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 2006-210 accepting the construction contract on the Traffic Signal at
Paseo Del Norte and Car Country Drive, Project No. 3935-1 as complete, and directing the City Clerk
to record a Notice of Completion and release bonds in accordance with State Law and City
Ordinances.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On November 1, 2005, Lekos Electric, Inc. was awarded a contract in the amount of $154,095 for the
construction of the Traffic Signal at Paseo Del Norte and Car Country Drive, Project No. 3935-1.
Lekos Electric, Inc. completed the traffic signal work on June 8, 2006. City staff has inspected the
work and found it to be satisfactory. Staff recommends formal acceptance of the improvements by the
City Council.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
The approval of a Notice of completion is a ministerial process and is exempt from the requirements
of CEQA pursuant to Section 15268 of the State CEQA Guidelines.

CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE CONSTRUCTION
3 CONTRACT ON THE TRAFFIC SIGNAL AT PASEO DEL NORTE
AND CAR COUNTRY DRIVE. PROJECT NO. 3935-1 .

WHEREAS, the construction of the Traffic Signal at Paseo Del Norte and Car Country

Drive has been completed to the City's satisfaction by Lekos Electric, Inc. on June 8, 2006; and

WHEREAS, the formal project Notice of Completion has been prepared; and
WHEREAS, all project costs have been established to date.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,

California, as follows:10
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.11
12 2. That the Traffic Signal at Paseo Del Norte and Car Country Drive, specifically
13 identified as Project No. 3935-1, is deemed complete and is hereby accepted by the City Council
14 of the City of Carlsbad.
15 3. The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to
16 execute and record the Notice of Completion for the Traffic Signal at Paseo Del Norte and Car
17 Country Drive, Project No. 3935-1.
