RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Ordinance No. NS-817 granting a Zone Change from Planned Community (P-C) to
One Family Residential, minimum 20,000 square foot lot size (R-1.20,000) for a 0.5 acre City-
owned vacant site at 7201 Rancho Santa Fe Road, approximately 0.5 miles south of San
Elijo Road in Local Facilities Management Zone 11, ZC 05-12; and,
Adopt Ordinance No. NS-818 amending the La Costa Master Plan by removing a 0.5 acre
City-owned parcel identified as Assessor's Parcel Number 223-617-24, located at 7201
Rancho Santa Fe Road, approximately 0.5 miles south of San Elijo Road in Local Facilities
Management Zone 11, MP 149(U).
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Ordinance Nos. NS-817 and NS-818 were introduced and first read at the City Council
meeting held on September 26, 2006. The second reading allows the City Council to adopt
the ordinance, which would then become effective in thirty days. The City Clerk will have the
ordinance published within fifteen days, if adopted.

The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, does ordain as follows:

SECTION I: That the City's Zoning Map is amended as shown on the map

marked Exhibit "ZC 05-12" attached hereto and made a part hereof, pursuant to Section
21.05.030 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code.12
SECTION II: That the findings and conditions of the Planning Commission as
set forth in Planning Commission Resolution No. 6155, constitute the findings and conditions of14
the City Council.
EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty days after its16
adoption, and the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to be
published at least once in a publication of general circulation in the City of Carlsbad within18
fifteen days after its adoption.
INTRODUCED AND FIRST READ at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City
21 Council on the 26th day of September 2006, and thereafter.

7 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, has reviewed and
8 considered an amendment to the La Costa Master Plan (MP 149) to remove from the Master
9 Plan a vacant, 0.5 acre, city-owned parcel that is the site of proposed Fire Station No. 6; and
10 WHEREAS, the City Council did on the 26th day of September . 2006, hold
11 a duly noticed public hearing as prescribed by law to consider said request; and
12 WHEREAS, said application constitutes a request for a master plan amendment,
case number MP 149(U), consistent with Chapter 21.38 of the municipal code as shown on
Exhibit "MP 149(U)", attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California does ordain as follows:
16 SECTION I: That Master Plan Amendment MP 149(U) removes the 0.5 acre
parcel, identified as Assessor's Parcel Number 223-617-24, from the La Costa Master Plan (MP
149) and is one of the actions necessary to allow the approval of proposed Fire Station No. 6,
as described in the related project files ZC 05-12, CUP 05-13, and HMPP 06-01 on file in the
20 Planning Department and incorporated herein by reference.
91 SECTION II: That the findings and conditions of the Planning Commission in
22 Planning Commission Resolution No. 6156 shall also constitute the findings and conditions of
23 the City Council.
24 EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty days after its
25 adoption, and the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to be
published at least once in a newspaper of general circulation within fifteen days after its
adoption.
