One being the completion of our brand new athletic field. While we are very fortunate to have such an upgrade, it has changed many of the traditions surrounding our Homecoming parade, seemingly for the better. In the past, our parade has taken place on the track around our field. There have been floats driven around the field on flatbed trucks, court members presented in cars, and cheerleaders transported in a fire truck. Since we are no longer allowed to drive any vehicles around our new track, we can not host this even in its usual spot. We are now going to hold this event on the street surrounding our school, Calle Acervo. Along with the parade, on Thursday October 26th, will be a carnival consisting of booths, food, games, and entertainment, all for the community to enjoy. We, the La Costa Canyon ASB class, would like to ask the council to fund our new event. The costs of the parade would include the payment of four police officers, (about $560), and traffic control signs, (about $40). Such financial aid would be a great help to our school considering that this new event was not in our budget. Thank you for taking our request into consideration. We appreciate your time. Sincerely, The La Costa Canyon ASB Class
