RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Ordinance No. NS-821 amending Title 10, Chapter 10.44 of the Carlsbad Municipal
Code by the revision of Section 10.44.130 to establish a prima facie 35 mile per hour speed
limit on Marron Road from 140 feet east of Avenida De Anita to its intersection with El
Camino Real.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Ordinance No. NS-821 was introduced and first read at the City Council meeting held on
November 7, 2006. The second reading allows the City Council to adopt the ordinance,
which would then become effective in thirty days. The City Clerk will have the ordinance
published within fifteen days, if adopted.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 10, CHAPTER
10.44, OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE
4 REVISION OF SECTION 10.44.130 TO ESTABLISH UPON
MARRON ROAD A PRIMA FACIE 35 MILE PER HOUR SPEED
5 LIMIT FROM 140 FEET EAST OF AVENIDA DE ANITA TO ITS
INTERSECTION WITH EL CAMINO REAL.

The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, hereby ordains as follows:

SECTION 1: That Title 10, Chapter 10.44, of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is amended

by the revision of Section 10.44.130 to read as follows:
9 "10.44.130 Matron Road.
10 (a) Upon Marron Road from 140 feet east of Avenida de Anita
to its intersection with El Camino Real, the prima facie speed limit
shall be thirty-five miles per hour.
12 (b) Upon Marron Road from El Camino Real to the city limits at
Highway 78, the prima facie speed limit shall be thirty-five miles per
hour."
14 EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after its adoption; and
the City Clerk shall certify the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to be published at least once in
a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Carlsbad within fifteen (15) days after its adoption.17 ///18 ///19 ///20 ///

INTRODUCED AND FIRST READ at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City Council on
the 7th day of November, 2006, and thereafter.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad on the 14th day of November, 2006, by the following vote:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Hall, Packard, Sigafoose
NOES: None
