RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 2006-348 . accepting a donation of cash in the amount of one
thousand dollars ($1000) to benefit Carlsbad Senior Center.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The Carlsbad Senior Citizens' Association meets each Tuesday at the Carlsbad Senior Center
and gives an opportunity for more than 60 people to play bingo and socialize. The Carlsbad
Senior Citizens' Association donated $1,000 in appreciation for a great facility and staff members
who help make their bingo playing experience enjoyable.
On October 5, 2006, the Senior Commission received the above donation and recommended
acceptance by the City Council. A letter of appreciation has been sent on behalf of the City of
Carlsbad and the Senior Center to the Carlsbad Senior Citizens' Association.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The $1000 has been deposited in the Senior Trust Account #14345675651 and will benefit the
Senior Center programs.

None

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE DONATION
FROM CARLSBAD SENIOR CITIZENS' ASSOCIATION IN THE
4 AMOUNT ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,000) IN SUPPORT
5 OF THE CARLSBAD SENIOR CENTER.
6 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, wishes to accept
7 this donation and acknowledge the generosity and support of Carlsbad Senior Citizens
8 Association.
9 WHEREAS, on October 5, 2006 the Senior Commission recommended
10 acceptance of a cash donation $1000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
12 Carlsbad, California, as follows:
13 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
14 2. That the City Council does hereby accept the cash donation totaling One
Thousand dollars ($1000.00).
