RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Ordinance No. NS-831 amending Title 10, Chapter 10.40 of the Carlsbad Municipal
Code by the amendment of Section 10.40.128, to declare a No Parking Zone on each side of
Cassia Road from Poinsettia Lane to its intersection with El Camino Real.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Ordinance No. NS-831 was introduced and first read at the City Council meeting held on
February 6, 2007. The second reading allows the City Council to adopt the ordinance, which
would then become effective in thirty days. The City Clerk will have the ordinance published
within fifteen days, if adopted.

See Agenda Bill No. 18,887 on file in the Office of the City Clerk.

2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 10, CHAPTER 10.40,
3 OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE AMENDMENT OF
SECTION 10.40.128 TO DECLARE A NO PARKING ZONE ON
4 EACH SIDE OF CASSIA ROAD FROM POINSETTIA LANE TO ITS
INTERSECTION WITH EL CAMINO REAL.

The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, hereby ordains as follows:

SECTION 1: That Title 10, Chapter 10.40 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is amended
7 by the revision of 10.40.128 to read as follows:
"10.40.128 Parking Restricted on Cassia Road.
There will be no parking on each side of Cassia Road from Poinsettia
Lane to its intersection with El Camino Real."
. EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after its adoption; and
1 - the City Clerk shall certify the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to be published at least once in
a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Carlsbad within fifteen (15) days after its adoption.
This ordinance continues in effect until Poinsettia Lane Reach "E" is constructed and opened
to traffic and it then automatically expires unless action is taken by the City Council to extend the
parking prohibition.

INTRODUCED AND FIRST READ at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City Council on
the 6th day of February, 2007, and thereafter.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad on the 13th day of February, 2007, by the following vote:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Hall, Packard
NOES: None
ABSENT: Council Member Sigafoose
ABSTAIN: None
