Dear Mr. Patchett,
At the request of Mayor Bud Lewis, we request the opportunity to speak to the City
and its City Council during the February 6n Council Meeting and to ask for your
support for the Carlsbad Community Foundation and our efforts to promote
philanthropy in our great city. Carlsbad community leaders and The San Diego
Foundation have partnered to create the Carlsbad Community Foundation. This
Community Foundation is an exciting and innovative approach to meet the
community's emerging needs by encouraging and increasing responsible and
effective philanthropy by and for the benefit of all who live and work in Carlsbad.
The Carlsbad Community Foundation will engage in efforts to build an endowment
that will benefit the community now and forever, as well as engage in immediate
grant making to the many non-profit agencies that provide services in our
neighborhoods.
Thank you for your thoughtful consideration. We would be pleased to provide any
additional information you may require. Please feel free to contact either of us or
John Duca, North County Coastal Regional Manager, The San Diego Foundation
at 760.269.3882 or john@sdfoundation.org. We look forward to your reply.
Sincerely,
( rfi
