RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 2007-032 accepting the construction contract on the Woodstock Sewer
Pipeline Extension, Project No. 3840-1 as complete, and directing the City Clerk to release bonds in
accordance with State Law and City Ordinances.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On March 1, 2005, Dominguez General Engineering Contractor (Dominguez) was awarded a contract
in the amount of $197,401 for the construction of the Woodstock Sewer Pipeline Extension, Project
No. 3840-1.
Dominguez completed the construction on July 26, 2006. A contract change order for additional work
was completed on January 25, 2007. City staff has inspected the work and found it to be satisfactory.
Staff recommends formal acceptance of the improvements by the City Council.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
The acceptance of a capital project is a ministerial process and is exempt from the requirements of
CEQA pursuant to Section 15268 of the State CEQA Guidelines.

CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE CONSTRUCTION
3 CONTRACT ON THE WOODSTOCK SEWER PIPELINE
EXTENSION. PROJECT NO. 3840-1 ,

WHEREAS, the construction of the Woodstock Sewer Pipeline Extension has been
5
completed to the City's satisfaction by Dominguez General Engineering Contractor on January 25,
6
2007; and

WHEREAS, all project costs have been established to date.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
9
California, as follows:10
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
12 2. That the Woodstock Sewer Pipeline Extension, specifically identified as Project
13 No. 3840-1, is deemed complete and is hereby accepted by the City Council of the City of
14 Carlsbad.
15 3. The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to
16 release bonds in accordance with State Law and City Ordinances for the Woodstock Sewer
17 Pipeline Extension, Project No. 3840-1.
