RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Ordinance No. NS-843 amending Title 10, Chapter 10.28 of the Carlsbad Municipal
Code by the addition of Sections 10.28.880 and 10.28.890 to require stops on El Fuerte
Street at its intersection with Unicomio Street and Chorlito Street.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Ordinance No. NS-843 was introduced and first read at the City Council meeting held on
May 22, 2007. The second reading allows the City Council to adopt the ordinance, which was
amended to read "the Ordinance will become effective in thirty days, and as to Chorlito Street,
shall be effective thirty (30) days after its adoption, or upon removal of the vegetation to the
satisfaction of the City Engineer, whichever is later". The City Clerk will have the ordinance
published within fifteen days, if adopted.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 10, CHAPTER 10.28,
OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE TO REQUIRE A STOP ON
4 EL FUERTE STREET AT ITS INTERSECTION WITH UNICORNIO
STREET AND TO REQUIRE A STOP ON EL FUERTE STREET AT
5 ITS INTERSECTION WITH CHORLITO STREET.
6 The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, hereby ordains as follows:
7 SECTION 1: That Title 10, Chapter 10.28 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is amended
3 by the addition of Section 10.28.880 to read as follows:
9 "10.28.880 Unicomio Street. Drivers shall stop where the following
described street intersects Unicomio Street:
10 El Fuerte Street."
SECTION 2: That Title 10, Chapter 10.28 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is amended
12 by the addition of Section 10.28.890 to read as follows:
13 "10.28.890 Choriito Street. Drivers shall stop where the following
14 described street intersects Choriito Street:
15 El Fuerte Street."
16 EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after its adoption; and
17 as to Choriito Street, shall be effective thirty (30) days after its adoption, or upon removal of the
18 vegetation to the satisfaction of the City Engineer, whichever is later. The City Clerk shall certify the
19 adoption of this ordinance and cause it to be published at least once in a newspaper of general
20 circulation in the City of Carlsbad within fifteen (15) days after its adoption.
