RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 2007-134 accepting the construction contract on the Hidden Canyon
Community Park, Project No. 38561-A as complete, and directing the City Clerk to record a Notice of
Completion and release bonds in accordance with State Law and City Ordinances.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On July 6, 2004, Griffith Company was awarded a contract in the amount of $1,414,414 for the
construction of Hidden Canyon Community Park, Project No. 38561-A.
Griffith Company completed the park work on March 27, 2007. City staff has inspected the work and
found it to be satisfactory. Staff recommends formal acceptance of the improvements by the City
Council.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
The approval of a Notice of Completion is a ministerial process and is exempt from the requirements
of CEQA pursuant to Section 15268 of the State CEQA Guidelines.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE CONSTRUCTION
CONTRACT ON HIDDEN CANYON COMMUNITY PARK
4 PROJECT NO. 38561-A.
5 WHEREAS, the construction of the Hidden Canyon Community Park has been
6 completed to the City's satisfaction by Griffith Company on March 27, 2007; and
7 WHEREAS, the formal project Notice of Completion has been prepared; and
8 WHEREAS, all project costs have been established to date.
9 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
10 California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
12 2. That the Hidden Canyon Community Park, specifically identified as Project No.
13 38561-A, is deemed complete and is hereby accepted by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad.

3. The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to

execute and record the Notice of Completion for Hidden Canyon Community Park, Project No.

38561-A.
