RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 2007-196 accepting donations in Fiscal Year
2006-07 of $850 each, to the Parks Memorial Bench/Tree Program, from Ms. Judy Ledesma and Mr.
Ron Ball for memorial benches.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Ms. Judy Ledesma and Mr. Ron Ball each donated $850 in Fiscal Year 2006-07, to the City of Carlsbad,
for the express purpose of purchasing park memorial benches. The subject benches have been
installed at the designated locations by Parks Maintenance Staff. These donations, totaling $1,700, are
the direct result of interest by Ms. Ledesma and Mr. Ball in the City's Parks Memorial Bench/Tree
Program.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
This program has been determined to be exempt from environmental review per CEQA (14 Cat Code
Reg §15301).
FISCAL IMPACT:
The donated funds are sufficient to off-set the costs associated with the bench purchases and
installations.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING DONATIONS IN
FISCAL YEAR 2006-07 FOR PARK MEMORIAL BENCHES.

5 WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad Public Works Parks Maintenance Department
6 administers a Parks Memorial Bench/Tree Program, and
7 WHEREAS, Ms. Judy Ledesma and Mr. Ron Ball have each donated $850, in Fiscal
8 Year 2006-07, to the City of Carlsbad for the express purpose of purchasing park memorial
9 benches, and
10 WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept these donations, totaling $1,700;
11 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:
•10 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
14 2. That the City Council accepts the donations in Fiscal Year 2006-07 from Ms. Judy
Ledesma and Mr. Ron Ball, totaling $1,700, on behalf of all citizens of Carlsbad.

of the City of Carlsbad on the 24th day of July, 2007, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Kulchin, Hall, Packard and Nygaard.
NOES: None.
