RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Ordinance No. NS-853 amending Title 10, Chapter 10.44 of the Carlsbad Municipal
Code by the addition of Section 10.44.810 to establish a prima facie 35 mile per hour speed
limit on Palmer Way from Faraday Avenue to Cougar Drive.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Ordinance No. NS-853 was introduced and first read at the City Council meeting held on
August 7, 2007. The second reading allows the City Council to adopt the ordinance, which
would then become effective in thirty days. The City Clerk will have the ordinance published
within fifteen days, if adopted.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 10, CHAPTER 10.44,
OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE ADDITION OF
4 SECTION 10.44.810 TO ESTABLISH UPON PALMER WAY A
PRIMA FACIE 35 MILE PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT FROM FARADAY
5 AVENUE TO COUGAR DRIVE
6 The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, hereby ordains as follows:
7 SECTION 1: That Title 10, Chapter 10.44, of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is amended
g by the addition of Section 10.44.810 to read as follows:
"10.44.810 Palmer Way. Upon Palmer Way from Faraday Avenue to
Cougar Drive, the prima facie speed limit shall be thirty-five miles per
hour."
EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after its adoption; and
the City Clerk shall certify the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to be published at least once in
13 a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Carlsbad within fifteen (15) days after its adoption.

Council on the 7th day of August, 2007, and thereafter.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad on the 14th day of August, 2007, by the following vote, to wit:
