RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Ordinance No. NS-854 amending Title 10, Chapter 10.44 of the Carlsbad Municipal
Code by the addition of Section 10.44.800 to establish a prima facie 35 mile per hour speed
limit on Impala Drive from Palmer Way to Orion Street.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Ordinance No. NS-854 was introduced and first read at the City Council meeting held on
August 7, 2007. The second reading allows the City Council to adopt the ordinance, which
would then become effective in thirty days. The City Clerk will have the ordinance published
within fifteen days, if adopted.
FISCAL IMPACT:
See Agenda Bill No. 19,120 on file in the Office of the City Clerk.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 10, CHAPTER 10.44,
OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE ADDITION OF
4 SECTION 10.44.800 TO ESTABLISH UPON IMPALA DRIVE A
PRIMA FACIE 35 MILE PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT FROM PALMER
5 WAY TO ORION STREET.
6 The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, hereby ordains as follows:
7 SECTION 1: That Title 10, Chapter 10.44, of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is amended
g by the addition of Section 10.44.800 to read as follows:
"10.44.800 Impala Drive. Upon Impala Drive from Palmer Way to Orion
Street, the prima facie speed limit shall be thirty-five miles per hour."
EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after its adoption; and
the City Clerk shall certify the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to be published at least once in
12 a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Carlsbad within fifteen (15) days after its adoption.13 ///
