RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 2007-233 accepting a $1,000 donation from Mrs. Ruth Olsman and
appropriating the donated funds to the Fire Department for Emergency Medical Services.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
A gift of $1,000 has been received from Mrs. Ruth Olsman in appreciation of Fire Department
personnel providing emergency medical services, with the request that the funds be used in the Fire
Department for Emergency Medical Services.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
None.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Addition of $1,000 to the Fire Department for Emergency Medical Services.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A GIFT OF MONEY TO THE
FIRE DEPARTMENT FOR EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES .

WHEREAS, Mrs. Ruth Olsman wishes to make a donation of $1,000 to the Fire
5
Department for Emergency Medical Services; and
6
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept this gift pursuant to Sections 37354 and
7
37355 of the California Government Code; and
8
WHEREAS, the donation of $1,000 is intended for appropriation to the Fire Department
9
for Emergency Medical Services.10
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,11
California, as follows:12
1. That the above recitations are true and correct;13
2. That the City Council accepts the gift of money to the Fire Department for
Emergency Medical Services; and

3. That the Finance Director is authorized to appropriate $1,000 to the Fire16
Department for Emergency Medical Services.
