RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 2007-292 authorizing the City Clerk to advertise bids for the
FY 07/08 Concrete Replacement, Project No. 6013.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
As part of the City's Annual Concrete Replacement Program, the Streets Department has provided the
Engineering Department with a list of locations where concrete replacement is necessary.
Some concrete improvements in the public right-of-way need to be replaced because of deterioration,
cracking, and uplifting. Curb, gutter, sidewalk, curb ramps, and driveway approaches which need to be
replaced have been identified from complaints and visual inspection by City staff.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
This project is categorically exempt from the environmental review process under Section 15301
Class 1(c) of the Public Resources Code (California Environmental Quality Act).

The total estimated cost is $199,800 for the FY 07/08 Concrete Replacement Project. The Capital
Improvement Program has allocated $250,000 annually for concrete replacement, therefore, sufficient
funds are available to complete this project.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO
ADVERTISE BIDS FOR THE FY 07/08 CONCRETE
REPLACEMENT. PROJECT NO. 6013.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California,
necessary, desirable, and in the public interest to replace damaged concrete
the City's ongoing street maintenance program; and
has determined it
in accordance with
WHEREAS, the contract and specifications for furnishing of all labor, materials, tools,
equipment, transportation, and other expenses necessary or incidental to the
