RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Ordinance No. NS-867 amending Title 10, Chapter 10.44 of the Carlsbad Municipal
Code by the revision of Section 10.44.130 to establish a prima facie 40 mile per hour speed
limit on Marron Road from El Camino Real to the Carlsbad city limits at Highway 78.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Ordinance No. NS-867 was introduced and first read at the City Council meeting held on
December 11, 2007. The second reading allows the City Council to adopt the ordinance,
which would then become effective in thirty days. The City Clerk will have the ordinance
published within fifteen days, if adopted.

REVISION OF SECTION 10.44.130 TO ESTABLISH UPON
MARRON ROAD A PRIMA FACIE 40 MILE PER HOUR SPEED
LIMIT FROM EL CAMINO REAL TO THE CITY LIMITS AT
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, hereby ordains as follows:
SECTION 1: That Title 10, Chapter 10.44, of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is amended
by the revision of Section 10.44.130 to read as follows:
"10.44.130 Marron Road.
(a) Upon Marron Road from 140 feet east of Avenida de Anita
Highway 78, the prima facie speed limit shall be forty miles per
hour."
14 EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after its adoption;
and the City Clerk shall certify the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to be published at least
once in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Carlsbad within fifteen (15) days after its

the 11th day of December, 2007, and thereafter.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad on the 18th day of December, 2007, by the following vote:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Hall, Packard and Nygaard.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
