ACCEPTANCE OF $500 DONATION FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT

RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 2008-053 accepting a $500 donation from Washington Mutual Bank and
appropriating the donated funds to the Fire Department for Emergency Medical Services.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
A gift of $500 has been received from Washington Mutual Bank in appreciation of Fire Department
personnel, with the request that the funds be used in the Fire Department for Emergency Medical
Services.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
This action is not a project within the meaning of CEQA and no further review is required.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Addition of $500 to the Fire Department for Emergency Medical Services.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A GIFT OF MONEY TO THE
FIRE DEPARTMENT FOR EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES

WHEREAS, Washington Mutual Bank wishes to make a donation of $500 to the Fire
5
Department for Emergency Medical Services; and
6
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept this gift pursuant to Sections 37354 and
37355 of the California Government Code; and
8
WHEREAS, the donation of $500 is intended for appropriation to the Fire Department for
9
Emergency Medical Services.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:12
1. That the above recitations are true and correct;

2. That the City Council accepts the gift of money to the Fire Department for
Emergency Medical Services; and

3. That the Finance Director is authorized to appropriate $500 to the Fire
Department for Emergency Medical Services.
