RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Ordinance No. NS-876 amending Title 10, Chapter 10.28 of the Carlsbad Municipal
Code by the revision of Section 10.28.650 to require a stop on Contour Place at its
intersection with Strata Drive.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Ordinance No. NS-876 was introduced and first read at the City Council meeting held on
March 4, 2008. The second reading allows the City Council to adopt the ordinance, which
would then become effective in thirty days. The City Clerk will have the ordinance published
within fifteen days, if adopted.
FISCAL IMPACT:
See Agenda Bill No. 19,346 on file in the Office of the City Clerk.

SECTION 1: That Title 10, Chapter 10.28 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is amended
by the revision of Section 10.28.650 to read as follows:

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 10, CHAPTER
10.28 OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE TO REQUIRE
STOPS ON CONTOUR PLACE AT ITS INTERSECTION WITH
STRATA DRIVE.
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, hereby ordains as follows:
"10.28.650 Strata Drive. Drivers shall stop where the following
described streets intersect Strata Drive:
Tamarack Avenue (east)

Contour Place."

NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, ordains as

follows:

1. That the above recitations are true and correct.

2. EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after its
adoption; and the City Clerk shall certify the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to be

published at least once in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Carlsbad within fifteen
(15) days after its adoption.18

INTRODUCED AND FIRST READ at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City Council on
the 4th day of March, 2008, and thereafter.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad on the 18th day of March, 2008, by the following vote:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Hall, Packard and Nygaard.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTAIN: None.
