CITY MGR. {fa RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt Resolution Nos. 2008-196 2008-197 and 2008-198 appointing three members to the Arts Commission. ITEM EXPLANATION: The term of Barbara Iserloth expired in March 2008. She was originally appointed in April 2004. Ms Iserloth has served four years. The term of Sherman DeForest expired in March 2008. He was originally appointed in July 2005, filling the unexpired term of Kelvin Okamoto. Mr. DeForest has served two years and eight months. The term of Ron Juncal also expired in March 2008. Mr. Juncal does not wish reappointment to the Arts Commission. He was appointed in April 2004, and has served four years and one month. Three appointments to the Arts Commission are needed. Other members of the Arts Commission are: Francis Carrillo, Heath Fox, Rita Francis and Gary Hill. NOTE: Members of the Arts Commission are subject to the provisions of the Political Reform Act, and must file a Statement of Economic Interests. EXHIBITS: 1. I will gladly stay on till a suitable replacement can be found. I have really enjoyed my time with the other members and the whole experience has been positive. I'm glad that I was considered and have learned a lot about the process of bringing art to the people. I believe the commission can continue to grow and find its greater purpose in the community as time goes on. I intend to continue my involvement in the community in a few other ventures as well as keeping ArtSplash an event that enhances our way of life in Carlsbad.
