RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 2008-214 accepting the work in accordance with Contract No. STS 08-
01, 2007-08 Village Concrete and Hardscape Repairs as complete and direct the City Clerk to have the
Notice of Completion recorded and release bonds in accordance with State Law and City Ordinances.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On March 18, 2008, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2008-086, awarding Contract No. STS
08-01, to Tri-Group Construction and Development, Inc., for $222,979 and authorized $50,000 in
contingency funds to perform concrete and hare-scape repairs in the downtown village area.
The construction phase of the project was completed on time and all outstanding items have been
received. The repaired concrete and hardscape has been inspected by staff and is acceptable to the
Public Works Manager, General Services.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
The approval of a Notice of Completion is a ministerial process and is exempt from the requirements
of CEQA pursuant to Section 15268 of the State CEQA Guidelines.

The total construction cost for this project is $272,721. Change orders for the project totaled $49,742
of the approved contingency total of $50,000. Change Orders included the replacement of two additional
pedestrian ramps on State Street, the relocation of two additional pedestrian ramps and installation of a
mid-block crosswalk on Grand Avenue and additional assorted sidewalk and hardscape repairs throughout
the project area.

WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2008-086 approving contract
6
documents, special provisions and specifications, and authorized the City Clerk to advertise for
7
bids to perform Contract No. STS 08-01, 2007-08 Village Concrete and Hardscape Repairs,
8
hereinafter referred to as the "Project"; and
9
WHEREAS, the City Council has previously awarded a contract for the Project; and
10
WHEREAS, the Project work has been satisfactorily completed; and
11
WHEREAS, a Notice of Completion has been prepared for the Project; and
12
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby finds it necessary, desirable, and in the public interest
13
to accept the completed work to perform Contract No. STS 08-01, Village Concrete and
Hardscape Repairs.\ o
