NOTICE OF COMPLETION OF CONTRACT FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF THE SENIOR CENTER

RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 2008-228 accepting the contract for construction of the Senior Center
Improvements, Project No. 45001-2 as complete and directing the City Clerk to record a Notice of
Completion and release bonds in accordance with State Law and City Ordinances.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On March 6, 2007, the City of Carlsbad awarded a contract to Good and Roberts, Inc., in the amount
of $631,500 for the construction of the Senior Center Improvements, Project No. 45001-2.
Good and Roberts, Inc., completed the contract work on January 25, 2008. City staff has inspected
the work and found it to be satisfactory. Staff recommends acceptance of the improvements by the
City Council.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
The approval of a Notice of Completion is a ministerial process and is exempt from the requirements
of CEQA pursuant to Section 15268 of the State CEQA Guidelines.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE CONTRACT FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF THE SENIOR CENTER IMPROVEMENTS,
4 PROJECT NO. 45001-2 AS COMPLETE.
5 WHEREAS, the construction of the Senior Center Improvements project has been
6 completed to the City's satisfaction by Good and Roberts, Inc., on January 25, 2008; and
7 WHEREAS, the formal project Notice of Completion has been prepared; and
8 WHEREAS, all project costs have been established to date.
9 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
10 California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
12 2. That the Senior Center Improvements, specifically identified as Project No.
13 45001-2, is deemed complete and is hereby accepted by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad.

3. The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to

execute and record the Notice of Completion for the Senior Center Improvement project, Project
16
No. 45001-2.
