ITEM EXPLANATION:
The term of Marie Bradley expires in June 2008. She was originally appointed in February 2006.
Ms. Bradley has served two years and four months.
The term of Jerry Tarman expires in June 2008. He was originally appointed in August 1998
to fill an unexpired term. He was reappointed in June 2001 and May 2004. Mr. Tarman has
served eight years and ten months.
Two appointments to the Library Board are needed.
Copies of applications received in calendar year 2008 are on file in the Office of the City
Clerk.
Other members of the Library Board of Trustees are: William Kamenjarin, Bill Lignante and
Rob Swette.
NOTE: Members of the Library Board of Trustees are subject to the provisions of the
Political Reform Act, and must file a Statement of Economic Interests.

Dear Mayor Lewis:
First of all, thank you for allowing me the opportunity to serve
on the Carlsbad City Library Board of Trustees. As you may
recall, I was appointed to this Board to serve out the term for
Trustee Laurie Page when she resigned in 2005. My
appointment will expire in June of this year.
I have greatly enjoyed serving on this Board and my interest
and support of our Library and its service to this community
increases daily. I would like an opportunity to continue in this
position and would appreciate your consideration in
reappointing me for another four year term.
