CONSTRUCTION OF THE 2008 ARAM AND SLURRY
SEAL, PROJECT NO. 6001-08(SS)

RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 2009-028 accepting the contract for construction of the 2008 ARAM and
Slurry Seal, Project No. 6001-08(SS) as complete, and directing the City Clerk to record a Notice of
Completion and release bonds in accordance with State Law and City Ordinances.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On June 24, 2008, the City of Carlsbad awarded a contract to Copp Contracting, Inc. in the amount of
$569,403 for the construction of the 2008 ARAM and Slurry Seal, Project No. 6001-08(SS).
Copp Contracting, Inc. completed the contract work on December 8, 2008. City staff has inspected
the work and found it to be satisfactory. Staff recommends acceptance of the improvements by the
City Council.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
The approval of a Notice of Completion is a ministerial process and is exempt from the requirements
of CEQA pursuant to Section 15268 of the State CEQA Guidelines.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE CONTRACT FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF THE 2008 ARAM AND SLURRY SEAL,
4 PROJECT NO. 6001-08(SS).
5 WHEREAS, the construction of the 2008 ARAM and Slurry Seal has been completed to
6 the City's satisfaction by Copp Contracting, Inc. on December 8, 2008; and
7 WHEREAS, the formal project Notice of Completion has been prepared; and
8 WHEREAS, all project costs have been established to date.
9 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
12 2. That the 2008 ARAM and Slurry Seal, specifically identified as
13 Project No. 6001-08(SS), is deemed complete and is hereby accepted by the City Council of the
14 City of Carlsbad.

3. The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to
16
execute and record the Notice of Completion for the 2008 ARAM and Slurry Seal,
17
Project No. 6001-08(SS).
