RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 2009-040 accepting a donation of $2,500 from Stater Bros.
Charities, directing a letter of thanks, and authorizing the Finance Director to appropriate the
received funds to the Library budget.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Stater Bros. Charities has chosen to mark the occasion of the grand opening of their store in
the Bressi Ranch area of the City of Carlsbad with a donation of $2,500 for the purchase of
children's books for the Carlsbad City Library.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This donation from Stater Bros. Charities allows the Library to increase the children's
collection without an impact on the Collection Development budget for this fiscal year.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
This gift does not qualify as a project under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA
Guidelines Section 15378) and no environmental review is required.

WHEREAS, in celebration of the grand opening of the new Stater Bros, market

in the Bressi Ranch area of the City of Carlsbad, Stater Bros. Charities has provided

WHEREAS, Stater Bros. Charities has stipulated that these funds be used for
