RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 2009-122 _, appointing one member to the Historic
Preservation Commission.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The term of Sue Ladouceuer has expired. Ms. Ladouceur was originally appointed in March
2002 to fill the remainder of an unexpired term, was subsequently reappointed in May 2004,
and has served seven years and one month.
Since Ms. Ladouceur was appointed to represent the category requiring "a background or
interest in architecture, archeology, history, biology, engineering, geology, or a related field,"
one appointment is needed to represent this category.
Copies of applications received in calendar year 2009 are on file in the Office of the City Clerk.
Other members of the Commission are: Veronica Daly, Raul Diaz, Wendy Hinman and Joyce
Smith.

3 TO THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION

5 WHEREAS, the term of Sue Ladouceur has expired; and
6 WHEREAS, Ms. Ladouceur was appointed to serve in the category requiring "a
7 background or an interest in architecture, archeology, history, biology, engineering or
8 geology or related field";
9 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
10 Carlsbad, California, as follows:

1. That the above recitations are true and correct.12
2. That the following person is hereby appointed to serve as a member of the
14 Historic Preservation Commission for a term to expire in April 2012, in the category
15 requiring "a different expertise or interest in architecture, archeology, history, biology,
16 engineering or geology or a related field":
