ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION
RELATED TO THE
PINE AVENUE PARK FENCED
STORAGE AREA AND
APPROPRIATE THE FUNDS

RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 2009-125 , accepting individual cash donation of four thousand nine
hundred twenty-five dollars ($4,925) from Carlsbad Youth Baseball (CYB) for Pine Avenue
Park fenced storage area and directing the Finance Director to appropriate the received
funds.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
CYB donated $4,925 to the City of Carlsbad, for the express purpose of constructing a
fenced storage area at Pine Avenue Park. The storage area houses the portable fencing for
the multipurpose field and other large items belonging to CYB. In the past the field's batting
cage was used for storage of the portable fence. The batting cage may now be used to its
fullest capacity and as originally intended in the design process.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The $4,925 in donated funds covers the costs associated with constructing the fenced
storage area at Pine Avenue Park.
A letter of appreciation has been sent on behalf of the Recreation Department and the City of
Carlsbad.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
Pursuant to Public Resources Code Section 21065 and CEQA Guidelines, this action does
not constitute a "Project" within the meaning of CEQA and therefore, does not require an
environmental review.

storage area and appropriating the received funds to the Special Events Trust account.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
3 CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING AN INDIVIDUAL CASH DONATION OF FOUR
4 THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED TWENTY-FIVE DOLLARS ($4,925) FROM CARLSBAD
YOUTH BASEBALL (CYB) FOR PINE AVENUE PARK FENCED STORAGE AREA

WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad Parks and Recreation Department oversees

Pine Avenue Park; and8
g WHEREAS, Carlsbad Youth Softball (CYB) donated $4,925, to the City of
Carlsbad for the express purpose of building a fenced storage area; and
11 WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept this donation, totaling $4,925.
12 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
13 Carlsbad, California, as follows:
14 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.

2. That the City Council accepts the donation from Carlsbad Youth Softball
16
(CYB), totaling $4,925, on behalf of all citizens of Carlsbad.
3. That the Finance Director is authorized to appropriate $4,925 upon receipt to18
the Special Events Trust Account.
