RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 2009-204. appointing one member to the Library Board of Trustees.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The term of Bill Lignante expired in June 2009. Mr. Lignante was originally appointed in October
2004 to fill an unexpired term. He was reappointed in June 2005 and has served four years.
One appointment to the Library Board is needed.
Other members of the Library Board of Trustees are: Bob Benson, Marie Bradley, Beth
Hulsart and Rob Swette.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
Pursuant to Public Resources Code Section 21065 and CEQA Guidelines Section 15378,
this action does not constitute a "project" within the meaning of CEQA and therefore, does
not require an environmental review.
NOTE: Members of the Library Board of Trustees are subject to the provisions of the
Political Reform Act, and must file a Statement of Economic Interests.
Copies of applications received in calendar year 2009 are on file in the Office of the City
Clerk.

3 TO THE LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES

5 WHEREAS, the term of Commissioner Bill Lignante expired in June
6 2009.
7 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
8 Carlsbad, California, as follows:
9 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
10 2. That the following person is hereby appointed to serve as a member of the
11 Library Board of Trustees for a term to expire in June 2013:

next month. Having been appointed initially to finish a term
vacated by Karen Gleason Huss, my reappointment in 2004
represented my first full term.
