RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 2009-237 appointing one member to the Housing Commission.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The term of Commissioner Doris Ritchie expired in July 2009. Ms. Ritchie was originally
appointed in June 1999 to fill an unexpired term representing the "Members at Large" category.
She was reappointed in August, 2001 and in August, 2005.
One appointment is needed to represent the "Members at Large" category.
The other members of the Housing Commission are: Emelda Bradwell, Craig Kirk, Bobbie
Smith and Hope Wrisley.
NOTE: Members of the Housing Commission are subject to the provisions of the
Political Reform Act, and must file Statements of Economic Interests.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
Pursuant to Public Resources Code Section 21065 and CEQA Guidelines Section 15378,
this action does not constitute a "project" within the meaning of CEQA and therefore, does
not require an environmental review.
Applications received in Calendar Year 2009 are on file in the Office of the City Clerk.

5 WHEREAS, the term of Commissioner Doris Ritchie expired in July 2009; and
6 WHEREAS, Ms. Ritchie was appointed to serve in the "Members at Large"
7 category.
8 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
9 Carlsbad, California, as follows:
10 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
11 2. That the following person is hereby appointed to serve as a member of the
12 Housing Commission for a term to expire in July 2013, in the "Members at Large"
