CONSTRUCTION OF THE FY 08/09 CONCRETE
REPLACEMENT, PROJECT NO. 6013

RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 2009-253 accepting the contract for construction of the FY 08/09
Concrete Replacement, Project No. 6013 as complete, and directing the City Clerk to record a Notice
of Completion and release bonds in accordance with State Law and City Ordinances.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On December 2, 2008, the City of Carlsbad awarded a contract to Victor Concrete in the amount of
$149,503 for the construction of the FY 08/09 Concrete Replacement, Project No. 6013.
Victor Concrete completed the contract work on July 6, 2009. The final change order was executed
August 18, 2009. City staff has inspected the work and found it to be satisfactory. Staff recommends
acceptance of the improvements by the City Council.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
The approval of a Notice of Completion is a ministerial process and is exempt from the requirements
of CEQA pursuant to Section 15268 of the State CEQA Guidelines.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE CONTRACT FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF THE FY 08/09 CONCRETE
4 REPLACEMENT. PROJECT NO. 6013. AS COMPLETE.
5 WHEREAS, the construction of the FY 08/09 Concrete Replacement, Project No. 6013,
6 has been completed to the City's satisfaction by Victor Concrete on July 6, 2009; and
7 WHEREAS, the formal project Notice of Completion has been prepared; and
8 WHEREAS, all project costs have been established to date.
9 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
10 California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
1?2. That the FY 08/09 Concrete Replacement, specifically identified as
13 Project No. 6013 is deemed complete and is hereby accepted by the City Council of the City of
14 Carlsbad.
15 3. The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to
16 execute and record the Notice of Completion for the FY 08/09 Concrete Replacement,
17 Project No. 6013.
