RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 2QQ9-3Q2 . accepting a five hundred dollar ($500) dollar cash donation in support
of the Youth Sports Program, and directing the appropriation of the received funds.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
In October 2009, the Recreation Department received a donation from Imperial Capital Bank in the
amount of $500 in support of the Youth Sports Program.
The importance of youth sports activities and the many benefits these activities and programs bring to
community was the inspiration for the donation. The Recreation Department gratefully acknowledges
Imperial Capital Bank for their support of Parks and Recreation Department programming, generosity
and cash donation.
On November 16, 2009, the Parks and Recreation Commission received the above donation and
recommended acceptance by the City Council. A letter of appreciation has been sent on behalf of the
Recreation Department to Imperial Capital Bank.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The Parks and Recreation Department requests that the Council accept the cash donation in the amount
of $500 and authorize the Finance Director to appropriate the donation in support of the Youth Sports
program.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
Pursuant to Public Resources Code section 21065 and CEQA Guidelines section 15378, this action
does not constitute a "project1 within the meaning of CEQA and therefore, does not require an
environmental review.

2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING AND
3 APPROPRIATING A CASH DONATION IN THE AMOUNT
4 OF $500 TO THE RECREATION DEPARTMENT YOUTH
SPORTS PROGRAM.

6 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, wishes to accept
7 a cash donation in the amount of $500 and acknowledge the generosity and support of
Imperial Capital Bank; and
9 WHEREAS, the funds will be used to promote and support the Recreation
10 Department Youth Sports Program; and
11
WHEREAS, on November 16, 2009 the City's Parks and Recreation Commission
12
received the cash donation and has recommended acceptance of the donation by the
City Council.
15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
16 Carlsbad, California, as follows:
17 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
18 2. That the City Council does hereby accept the cash donation in the amount of
19 $500.

3. That the City Council hereby authorizes the Finance Director to appropriate
the received $500 cash donation into the Recreation Contribution Revenue
23 Fund.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 8th day of December. 2009, by the following vote to wit:
