HEAD M> CITYATTY. £<_ CITY MGR. \js~- RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt Resolution No. 2010-012 accepting a donation of $1,200 from Mrs. Graciela Quesada, sending an appropriate letter of thanks, and authorizing the Finance Director to appropriate the received funds to the Cultural Arts Office's arts education donation account for use in the William D. Cannon Art Gallery's Three-Part-Art education program. ITEM EXPLANATION: Mrs. Graciela Quesada has generously offered to donate $1,200 to be used by the City for busing Carlsbad students from Title One schools to the William D. Cannon Art Gallery's Three- Part-Art education program. Three-Part-Art is an educational outreach program that offers third- and fourth-graders from Carlsbad the experience of interacting with and learning from original works of art in a museum-like setting. ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: Accepting and appropriating this donation does not qualify as a project under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) per State CEQA Guidelines Section 15378. Accepting and appropriating this donation does not result in a direct or reasonable foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment. FISCAL IMPACT: This donation will provide partial funding for the William D. Cannon Art Gallery's Three-Part-Art education program, which has an annual cost of approximately $30,000 and is regularly funded, in part, by donations. EXHIBITS: 1. GRACIELA QUESADA AND APPROPRIATING THE RECEIVED FUNDS WHEREAS, Mrs. Graciela Quesada has generously offered to donate $1,200 to support the William D. Cannon Art Gallery's Three-Part-Art education program; and WHEREAS, this donation will provide partial funding for busing third- and fourth- graders from Title One schools in Carlsbad to the Three-Part-Art education program at the William D. Cannon Art Gallery; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows: 1. That the above recitations are true and correct. 2. That the City Council accepts the donation of $1,200 from Mrs. Graciela Quesada for busing activities related to the Three-Part-Art education program and authorizes the Finance Director to appropriate the received funds to the Cultural Arts Office budget. 3.
