TRANS APPROVAL OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZATION TO ADVERTISE BIDS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE 2010 PAVEMENT OVERLAY PROJECT NO. 6001-10-OL2 DEPT. DIRECTORCgT/ CITY ATTORNEY CITY MANAGER RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt Resolution No. 2010-184 approving plans and specifications and authorizing the City Clerk to advertise for bids for the construction of 2010 Pavement Overlay Project No. 6001-10- OL2. ITEM EXPLANATION: The 2010 Pavement Overlay Project is part of the City's ongoing Pavement Management Program. This project will rehabilitate a portion of Alga Road, Melrose Drive, and El Fuerte Street by applying a rubberized asphalt concrete layer over the existing pavement. Repairs will also be made on Alicante Road at the intersection of Alga Road. Staff recommends approving the project and authorizing the City Clerk to advertise for bids for the construction of the 2010 Pavement Overlay Project No. 6001-10-OL2. ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: The project is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) per State CEQA Guidelines Section 15301(c) - minor alteration of existing facilities including streets, sidewalks, gutters, and similar facilities involving negligible or no expansion. Remaining Pavement Management Program funds will be used on future pavement rehabilitation projects. That the above recitations are true and correct. 22 2. That the plans, specifications, and contract documents for the 2010 Pavement 23 Overlay Project No. 6001-10-OL2, on file in the Transportation Department of the City of Carlsbad 24 are hereby approved. 25 3.
