NOTICE OF COMPLETION OF CONTRACT FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF THE LA COSTA AVE
SUBDRAIN, PROJECT NO. 3681
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 2011-038 accepting the contract for construction of the La Costa Ave
Subdrain, Project No. 3681 as complete, and directing the City Clerk to record a Notice of Completion
and release bonds in accordance with State Law and City Ordinances.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On May 11, 2010, the City of Carlsbad awarded a contract to ATOM Engineering Construction in the
amount of $117,395 for the construction of the La Costa Ave Subdrain, Project No. 3681.
ATOM Engineering Construction completed the contract on Dec. 27, 2010. City staff has inspected
the work and found it to be satisfactory. Staff recommends acceptance of the improvements by the
City Council.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
The approval of a Notice of Completion is a ministerial process and is exempt from the requirements
of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Section 15268 of the State CEQA
Guidelines.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE CONTRACT FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF THE LA COSTA AVE SUBDRAIN,
4 PROJECT NO. 3681. AS COMPLETE.
5 WHEREAS, the construction of the La Costa Ave Subdrain, Project No. 3681, has been
6 completed to the City's satisfaction by ATOM Engineering Construction on Dec. 27, 2010; and
7 WHEREAS, the formal project Notice of Completion has been prepared; and
8 WHEREAS, all project costs have been established to date.
9 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
10 California, as follows:
11 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
12 2. That the La Costa Ave Subdrain, specifically identified as Project No. 3681 is
13 deemed complete and is hereby accepted by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad.
14 3. The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to
15 execute and record the Notice of Completion for the La Costa Ave Subdrain, Project No. 3681.16 /,/
