RECOMMENDED ACTION:
That the City Council continue the public hearing to March 22, 2011 or some other date certain.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The adoption of the 2010 California Fire Code, 2010 California Building Code, 2010 California
Mechanical Code, 2010 California Electrical Code, 2010 California Plumbing Code, 2009
Uniform Solar Code, 2010 California Residential Code, 2010 California Green Code and the
2010 California Energy Code was scheduled for a public hearing for March 8, 2011. The public
hearing must be continued to make additional changes to the ordinances.
Once a date certain for the continued public hearing is selected by the Council, no further
noticing is necessary.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no direct fiscal impact from continuing the public hearing.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
There is no environmental impact arising from the Council's decision to continue the public
hearing. The underlying environmental impacts of the proposed code changes are categorically
exempt from CEQA review pursuant to section 15309 of the CEQA guidelines.
