John Coates From: Don Christiansen [donchri§tiansen@pacbell.net] Sent: Friday, May 13, 2011 11:55 AM To: John Coates Subject: The Equinox Center-request for 10 minute presentation to City Council Good Morning John! I just returned from a presentation by California EPA Secretary Linda Adams and Procopio attorney John Lormon on the implementation of AB-32. While there I visited with Ann Tartre, the Executive Director of the Equinox Center. The center is a non-partisan organization focused on San Diego county sustainability (http://www.equinoxcenter.org/). Ann would like to introduce the work of the Equinox Center to Carlsbad's City Council, staff, and citizens. Since sustainability is a Carlsbad priority and Carlsbad is in the process of receiving input to update our General Plan via Envision Carlsbad and other sources, I think the timing is right. Please consider this as my request to allocate 10 minutes for a sustainability presentation by the Equinox Center at a future City Council meeting. I look forward to your response.
