RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 2011-28I accepting donation revenues totaling one thousand
eighty-nine dollars ($1,089) from ticket sales and the silent auction, and in-kind product and
service donations totaling one thousand two hundred thirty-four dollars ($1,234) from the 2011
Dinner and a Movie Night in support of the Leo Carrillo Ranch Trust Fund.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On August 19, 2011, 110 movie goers attended the annual Dinner and a Movie Night fundraiser
at Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park. In the fourth installment of the annual event, the program
was expanded to include a silent auction of unique ranch themed merchandise and live
entertainment provided by local guitarist Andy Laird. Guests attending the event this year were
additionally treated to freshly brewed gourmet coffee provided by Peet's Coffee and Tea.
A total of $1,089 in proceeds from the ticket sales and the silent auction were raised at this
year's event to benefit the Carrillo Ranch Trust Fund. Additionally, local vendors donated in-
kind products and services in support of the event. Allie's Party rentals donated $523 worth of
tables, chairs and linens; Peet's Coffee and Tea provided $160 worth of beverages. Catering by
Shanti waived their service fee of $351, and Andy Laird provided 2 hours of entertainment
valued at $200. The above mentioned donations are highlighted in exhibit 2.
On September 19, 2011, the Parks & Recreation Commission voted unanimously to accept the
donations from the 2011 Dinner and a Movie Night and recommended acceptance by the City
Council.

FISCAL IMPACT:
A total of $1,089 in donation revenue was generated from ticket sales and the silent auction at
Dinner and a Movie Night to benefit the Carrillo Ranch Trust Fund. A total of $1,234 of in-kind
product and service donations were also donated in support of the event.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
Pursuant to Public Resources Code section 21065, this action does not constitute a "projecf
within the meaning of CEQA in that it has no potential to cause either a direct physical
change in the environment, or a reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the
environment, and therefore does not require environmental review.

CARRILLO RANCH HISTORIC PARK
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept donation revenues totaling
$1,089, resulting from Dinner and a Movie Night ticket sales and silently auctioned
items at Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park in support of the Leo Carrillo Ranch Trust
Fund;and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to acknowledge the in-kind product and
11 service donations valued at $1,239 from Allie's Party Rental Equipment, Inc., Peet's
12 Coffee and Tea, Catering by Shanti, and guitarist Andy Laird; and
13 WHEREAS, on September 19, 2011 the Parks & Recreation Commission
accepted the donations totaling $2,323 and recommends acceptance by the City
Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad, California, as follows that:
1. The above recitations are true and correct.
21 2. That the City Council does hereby accept the $1,089 in donation revenue and
22 the $1,239 of donated in-kind products and services.
