RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Meet to consider Council reorganization by election of one of its members as Mayor Pro
Tempore and by appointing members ofthe City Council as liaisons/members/alternates to the
various committees.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Once Council Members have been seated following each General Municipal Election, part of
the Council's reorganization Includes the Council Committee Assignments as detailed in Title 2,
Chapter 2.04 ofthe Municipal Code, Section 2.04.050. In addition, Council elects one of its
members as Mayor Pro Tempore as detailed in Title 2, Chapter 2.08, ofthe Carlsbad Municipal
Code, Section 2.08.010.
Attached to this agenda bill is a list of the current Council committee assignments. This list
includes only those committee appointments, which are made by the Mayor. It does not
include those committees on which various Council Members serve as a result of their
appointments by other agencies.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
Pursuant to Public Resources Code section 21065, this action does not constitute a "project"
within the meaning of CEQA in that it has not potential to cause either a direct physical change
in the environment, or a reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment,
and therefore does not require environmental review.
