RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 2013-077 accepting the contract for construction of the Northwest
Quadrant Storm Drain Improvement Program, Concrete Repair Work and Pavement Management
Program (Roosevelt Street and Madison Street), Project Nos. 6608, 6021 and 6001 as complete, and
directing the City Clerk to record a Notice of Completion and release bonds in accordance with state
laws and city ordinances.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On January 10, 2012, the City of Carlsbad awarded a contract to Burtech Pipeline, Inc. in the amount of
$396,998 for the construction of the Northwest Quadrant Storm Drain Improvement Program,
Concrete Repair Work and Pavement Management Program (Roosevelt Street and Madison Street),
Project Nos. 6608, 6021 and 6001.
Burtech Pipeline, Inc. substantially completed the contract on September 18, 2012. The final change
order was executed on January 16, 2013. City staff has inspected the work and found it to be
satisfactory. Staff recommends acceptance ofthe improvements by the City Council.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE CONTRACT
FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE NORTHWEST QUADRANT
STORM DRAIN IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM, CONCRETE
REPAIR WORK AND PAVEMENT MANAGEMENT
PROGRAM (ROOSEVELT STREET AND MADISON
STREET), PROJECT NOS. 6608, 6021 AND 6001 AS
COMPLETE.
WHEREAS, the construction ofthe Northwest Quadrant Storm Drain Improvement
Program, Concrete Repair Work and Pavement Management Program (Roosevelt Street
and Madison Street), Project Nos. 6608, 6021 and 6601 has been completed to the city's
satisfaction by Burtech Pipeline, Inc. on September 18, 2012; and
WHEREAS, the formal project Notice of Completion has been prepared; and
WHEREAS, all project costs have been established to date.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carisbad, California, as follows that:
1. The above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the Northwest Quadrant Storm Drain Improvement Program, Concrete
Repair Work and Pavement Management Program (Roosevelt Street and Madison
Street), specifically identified as Project Nos. 6608, 6021 and 6001 is deemed complete
and is hereby accepted by the City Council ofthe City of Carisbad.
3. The City Clerk of the City of Carisbad is hereby authorized and directed to
execute and record the Notice of Completion for the Northwest Quadrant Storm Drain
Improvement Program, Concrete Repair Work and Pavement Management Program
(Roosevelt Street and Madison Street), specifically identified as Project Nos. 6608, 6021
and 6001.
