DIRECTOR MTG. 5/7/13 EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS CITY ATTY. DEPT. Fire CITY MGR. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Receive a presentation from Fire Department staff regarding smart phone emergency mobile application and supporting emergency operations center (EOC) operations. ITEM EXPLANATION: David Harrison, Emergency Preparedness Manager, will report on an upgrade to the San Diego County emergency mobile application that shares Carlsbad-specific emergency preparedness resources with the public. Report also summarizes Carlsbad's EOC operations and its role in creating emergency information shared through the mobile application. FISCAL IMPAa: None. ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: Pursuant to Public Resources Code section 21065 and CEQA Guidelines section 15378, this amendment does not constitute a "project" within the meaning of CEQA and therefore, does not require environmental review.
